What is a child care voter?

As Child Care Voters, we know that when it comes to our children, it truly takes a village.

Together, as parents, educators, neighbors, and friends, we are:

  • Uniting our voting power to win policies and call on public officials to achieve universal access to child care.
  • Growing our organizing skills as leaders in the movement to make child care a civil right.
  • Raising our voices to make sure everyone knows the important story about the child care crisis and our vision.

We Call For…

As Child Care Voters, we are calling for a universal child care system that:

  • Ensures every St. Louis and Missouri child and family has access by creating local revenue streams and protecting state subsidies.
  • Guarantees thriving wages for early childhood educators.
  • Centers racial and gender equity.

Imagine If The Economy Worked For All Of Us

Imagine if work actually built wealth for everyday working people. Imagine if you could take a sick day, welcome a new baby, or care for an aging parent without risking your job or falling behind on bills. Imagine if your neighborhood had a real say in what gets built there and who benefits. That's a people-centered economy.

What Does It Mean to Build a People-Centered Economy?

In a people-centered economy, community members own and control the assets in their communities. Work builds real wealth for everyday people. Our policies put people first, ensuring families can meet their basic needs, care for one another, and build a future worth passing on. We're building that here in St. Louis. And we need your help.

In A People-Centered Economy, We Call For…

  1. Paid Sick Leave
  2. Paid Family and Medical Leave
  3. Universal Access to Child Care
  4. Businesses Owned By The People Who Work There
