WEPOWER's Child Care Voter Campaign is excited to announce the 2026 Child Care Voter Hubs cohort, a 10-week program for up to 7 St. Louis City-based early childhood education programs of all kinds who believe universal access to child care should be a civil right and want to lead that effort by activating more educators, parents, and neighbors as “Child Care Voters” who join our movement.
These hubs will be home for the next few weeks to those seeking:

What is our Early Childhood goal?
Our long-term goal is for universal access to quality, free, and joyful early childhood education for babies ages 0-5. Our goal for 2026 is to win the vote in the November Election, which will provide approximately $22 million in sustainable public funding for St. Louis City to address the early childhood education crisis in our region. What is the Child Care Voter Campaign?
A campaign to activate community members across St. Louis to become powerful voters and take action to make child care a civil right for every child and family who calls St. Louis home.
As Child Care Voters We Are:
- Uniting our voting power to win policies and call on public officials to achieve universal access to child care.
- Growing our organizing skills as leaders in the movement to make child care a civil right.
- Raising our voices to make sure everyone knows the important story about the child care crisis and our vision.
Child Care Voters are calling for a universal child care system that:

Ensures every St. Louis and Missouri child and family has access by creating local revenue streams and protecting state subsidies.

Guarantees thriving wages for early childhood educators.

Centers racial and gender equity.
What Are The Benefits Of Becoming A Child Care Voter Hub?
- Access to a $5,000 micro-grant for up to TEN hubs
- Access to special training and leadership development
- Special swag
- Join a community of other child care providers
- Access to opportunities to meet and build relationships with some of St. Louis's power players
- Recognition in the media
Eligibility
- Must have a physical child care program location based in St. Louis City to serve as a Hub
- Child care programs of all kinds – community-based to home-based – are eligible to become a Hub with the exception of public/government entities
- Must be a child care program caring for 10 or more children ages 5 or below
- The program Director/Owner must submit the application, and/or you must have permission from the Director/Owner to submit the application for the child care program to be considered to become a Hub
- The Director/Owner and all individuals supporting the Child Care Voter Hub efforts must be registered to vote in Missouri and at least 18 years of age
