WEPOWER Wednesday: Solidarity is the Antidote

Friend,
Coming off the energy of 314 Day, we’re reminded that St. Louis is powered by its people—by the dreamers, the doers, and the organizers working to build a more just future. As we move through Women’s History Month, we celebrate the women who have shaped this region, from past trailblazers to the leaders driving change today.
One of those leaders is Ohun Ashe, founder of For The Culture STL, who continues to be a powerful advocate for Black communities in St. Louis. Through storytelling, resource-sharing, and unapologetic activism, she amplifies local Black businesses, organizes for justice, and pushes for policies that center the needs of our people.
The work continues beyond any single day or month. Together, we’re reimagining what’s possible for St. Louis, pushing for policies that invest in our communities, building economic power, and making sure every child, family, and entrepreneur has the opportunity to thrive.
Let’s keep going. The future of St. Louis is in our hands.

CALLS TO ACTION
Join the Community Wealth Action Group (CWAG) on March 29th for brunch at our monthly meeting. CWAG is a coalition of STL and ESTL residents working to create thriving neighborhoods for all.

The 2025 Child Advocacy Day is April 2nd, and it is a great time to talk with our state’s legislators in Jefferson City to support pro-childcare legislation. Buses will be available.

With Kiva, entrepreneurs can secure 0% interest microloans to grow their business—expand inventory, upgrade equipment, launch products, open a storefront, and more.

UPDATES
St. Louis, our future is on the ballot.
On Tuesday, April 8, we’re voting for Mayor, Comptroller, and Board of Aldermen (odd wards)—leaders who will make decisions that impact our neighborhoods, schools, and economy for years to come.
Early voting starts March 25 and runs through April 7. Now is the time to make a plan, find your polling place, and get ready to vote.
City leadership is on the line. Show up, use your voice, and shape the future of St. Louis.
INSPIRATION
Black Women Deserve Everything.
As we move through Women’s History Month, we recognize that Black women have long been at the forefront of change, leading movements, shaping economies, and building communities, often without the resources and recognition they deserve.
At WEPOWER, we’re committed to shifting power and investment toward Black women, ensuring they have access to the capital, opportunities, and decision-making spaces necessary to thrive. Because a future where Black women don’t have to fight for what they deserve—where it’s already theirs—is a future we’re building together.
Let's keep building,
Your Friends at WEPOWER
