At the most basic level, WEPOWER’s work is about building relationships, then activating them towards a future where we are cared for and have the resources we all need to be well. This mission is powered by community support. WEPOWER encourages attendees to consider a gift or learn about our coalitions, or apply to be a changemaker.

More about WEPOWER WEEKEND:
After over two years of physically being inside, trying to make sense of all the injustice happening in our world with television screens, cellphones, and laptops in our homes as our portals to outside, while also navigating the COVID-19 pandemic across St. Louis, East St. Louis, and beyond, WEPOWER will boldly return to being outside, figuratively and literally, and we are inviting you and neighbors across both sides of the river to join us! This summer and beyond, we are outside building power and wealth for our babies, our communities, our futures.

What does it mean to be outside?
For us to be outside means to engage in oral, written, and digital storytelling efforts that amplify the voices of everyday Black and Latinx changemakers and entrepreneurs working together to build a better St. Louis. Outside means to advance the development of a new generation of community leaders and strong early childhood and economic justice coalitions that support our region’s youngest and the neighborhoods their families call home. Outside means to grow the number of thriving St. Louis-based Black and Latinx businesses and the collective economic power of marginalized St. Louisans.

Outside means to embrace the critical role wellness and healing – from yoga to meditation – plays in our collective liberation and forward progress. Lastly, and importantly, outside means to build beloved community together through unforgettable in-person experiences filled with food, fun, music, art, joy, and authentic opportunities to connect with new and old friends committed to racial justice.
